TOYS R US SERVICE PROJECT CANCELLED We are very sorry to report that we will not be able to provide our volunteer services to Toys R US this year. We apologize for the late notice but we did not receive this information until this evening. Allyson will still be going to Starbucks at 4:30am to send anyone home who doesn't get this message. We realize a lot of you really look forward to this event and want you to know that how much we appreciate your dedication and hard work. We hope to work on a new event and venue for next year and hope to see everyone this Saturday 11/24 at Arin's House from 7pm-11pm for Open Mic, Games, Food, Music Jam, Karaoke, Bingo for Random Prizes and More. Arin's House Has A New Home Many thanks to everyone who contributed their time and energy to help us move and tranistion into our new location at Project Pace. Arin's House is now located at 2360 SW 170th Avenue, Beaverton, OR 97006. Our New Phone Number is 503-649-0132. Service Projects * Food Drive For the Oregon Food Bank-Please bring non perishable food to Arin's House from November 1st- November 29th to collect for the Oregon Food Bank. *Potluck in the Park, Meet at Arin's House on Sunday November 4th @ 1:45pm to set up, serve a meal and clean up with Potluck in the Park @ O'Bryant Square. We will also distribute clothing and toiletry items at the Resource Table. Please bring your donations of clothing, blankets, socks, toiletries, hats and gloves to Arin's House. *Toys R US CANCELLED by TOYS R US 11/20/07. November Hours of Operation are Mondays-Thursdays from 4pm-8pm. We will be closed Thursday, November 22nd for Thanksgiving. Teen Nights will be held On Saturday, November 10th and Saturday, November 24th from 7-11pm. Join us for open Mic, Music Jam, Games, Crafting opportunities, Food, Pool, Air Hockey & Guitar Hero. Junior Board Meeting will be held Tuesday, November 6th from 7-8pm. All interested members are encouraged to attend. Newsletter Project Night: Thursday, November 8th from 6-8pm. THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS & DONORS!

*Many thanks to all of you who helped with our school supply drive.

We picked up enough school supplies to fill 102 boxes, that were subsequently delivered to 13 schools in the Beaverton School District for distribution to anyone in need.

We would like to express our gratitude to those who donated supplies to this project, it is through your generosity that we are able to help make a collective difference in the community!

*We would also like to acknowledge all of the volunteers who assisted with Potluck in the Park’s Anniversary BBQ. This year we helped assemble the fall newsletter, collected toiletries and clothing for the resource table, passed out flyers to attendees prior to the event and assisted setting up, serving and cleaning up the meal. We hope that you will be able to join us for our monthly community service project with Potluck in the Park on Sunday October 28^th, 2007 @ 1:45pm (**Note we will meet at the Sunset Max Station) to go down to O‘Bryant Square and set up, serve a meal and clean up. IMPORTANT SCHEDULE CHANGE

We are open the first three weeks of October on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4-8pm at our current location , 13680 SW Linda Lane, Beaverton, OR 97006.

Nightly activities include:

Homework help, nightly dinner, recording studio, computer lab, game and recreation area.

We will be Closed Thursday October 18 through Friday October 26to facilitate our move to our new location.

Grand Opening Celebration and Halloween Costume Party on Saturday October 27, 2007 from 2-7pm @ Arin's House a teen center, 2360 SW 170^th Avenue, Beaverton, OR 97006.

Join us for food, music, games, random prizes and fun! Please feel free to bring your friends and family and check out our new facility! This is also the kickoff date for our canned food drive for the Oregon Food Bank (October 27-November 16). (PDF Flyer )

Summer Recap August Happenings

June and July were busy months. The Arin's House recording studio is up and running. We'd like to Thank Paul Jameson for his generous donation of studio equipment and Abe Ray for teaching recording production class. If you haven't had a chance to record some music yet, stop by and try it out. We had our dodgeball tournament/carnival at the Beaverton Elks Lodge on July 21st. We'd like to thank Harold and the Beaverton Elks Lodge for the use of their picnic area for this event. Special Thanks to James the Ref for helping run the event and posting pictures of the event on his website http://dodgeballsportsnetwork.com/arrins2007.html Many of our members graduated and will be heading off to college in August and September. We thank them for all of the time they dedicated to community service projects and wish them the best in their future endeavors. This is a reminder that Arin's House will be closed July 26, July 27 and July 30. We will reopen on Tuesday July 31, 2007 4-9pm. August is a busy month. Please check our calendar for daily hours of operation. We are generally open Monday-Friday from 4-9pm unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Please note that Arin's House will be closed Friday August 10, 2007 and Friday August 31, 2007 We will be kicking off our annual school supply drive for the Beaverton School District with a flyer stapling party/pizza night on Friday, August 3, 2007 from 4pm-10pm. Members and volunteers are invited to help staple flyers to shopping bags that will be distributed on Saturday, August 25th. Saturday, August 4, 2007 we will be having a car wash fundraiser from 10am - 4pm at the Walker Rd Les Scwab by Fred Meyer all proceeds will benefit Arin's House. We will also be having teen night at Arin's House from 6-10 pm. Friday, August 10-Sunday, August 12, 2007 members will be volunteering at the concession area at the Oregon Airshow. Volunteers must be 16 or older, 10 volunteers per day. Please contact Allyson if you are interested in helping. Saturday, August 18, 2007 Noon-4pm- Pirate Party at Project Pace 2360 SW 170th Avenue, Beaverton, OR 97006. Bring your swim suit and a towel for water fun, wear comfy clothes to ride the zipline, play carnival games, enter the raffle, enjoy food and music. Admission : $5 per person, Food and Raffle Tickets are extra (There are many prize baskets to choose from Raffle Tickets are $1 each or 10 for $11 or 23 for $20. Saturday, August 25th, 2007. School Supply Drive Bag Distribution Day. 8:30am-4:30pm. Meet at Arin's House to join a group and drive/walk neighborhoods to distribute bags for our school supply drive. Many volunteers are needed to accomplish this. Please bring your friends and famiy and join the fun. Arin's House will be closed Friday August 31st-Monday September 3rd, 2007 for Labor Day. We will be open Tuesday September 4, 2007 from 4pm-8pm. Wednesday September 5th, Arin's House is open from 4-6:30pm, Quarterly Board Meeting at 7pm.
